The following video discusses using the CMS Media Manager to upload new images, documents, files, folders, and more.  Please note that all pictures and images must be sized (recommended less than 600x600 pixels)   before uploading.  Also with PDF documents greater than 2MEG issues can occur with the internet, computers, and functionality.  We reccomend keeping your files as small as possible.  Uploading images under the "stories" folder is reccomended as well as creating new folders for your site.
